Today i want to talk about the difference between weight loss and fat loss.
Most people when they come into the gym, they are after weight loss. But once you sit down and have a bit of a chat is actually fat loss that they are after.
Weight loss is actually relatively easy to get, do a whole load of cardio and high intensity interval training and cut your calories and yes you will lose weight. That weight loss though will be mainly in muscle mass and water which is not really what most people want.
Fat loss on the other hand is all about body composition.
The best way to produce fat loss is by incorporating strength training and being in some sort of calorie deficit.
When you do strength training this is going to help build and maintain muscle mass which is going to help reduce body fat.
Remember muscle weighs more than fat so if you are losing weight fast you are losing muscle not body fat. Using strength training will take a bit longer but is way more effective and is way more sustainable.
Get in and do strength training to lose body fat, simple as that!
